Hint horoz breeding, which were bred for a certain purpose, Turkish gamefow lines and modern fighting lines

Over the centuries regional hint lines in Turkey have been set up, which assimilated at the diverse geographical circumstances. They were selected according to power, serviceability and the preferences of farmers (colour, size, etc.). The various hint lines are chickens, which have been bred for the same purpose their body however has been assimilated to the regional circumstances and in different regions produced other phenotypes. Successful types are for example the Istanbul, the Balatali (Izmir) and the Adana-Cock (South / East-type). These are old hint lines, which have a long tradition. These hint lines are often closely linked with the history of the city or region.

The differences between the old lines and the new battle lines are fluid and difficult to separate or differentiate. Earlier in the tournaments pure hint lines dominated, nowadays the performance of the various modern (crossing) lines is higher. Animals of newer lines are in a position to win big tournaments and repressed the mere hint lines. With the crossing of different breeds and hint lines, the breeder gets highly effective fighting lines, whose composition is a mystery of the individual breeder. Homozygous Hinthoroz animals are rare in Turkey, but indispensable to get a modern and winning Hint Horoz for the arena.
It is very uncertain to which extent the old lines will endure in the future. The development in Turkey has never stopped, on the other it would be a shame if such an important Turkish cultural artefact, as the mere hint Horoz in its current form, perhaps in ten or twenty years no longer exists.

Old lines were often called according to their geographical origin (Adana and Istanbul line). New lines are often called according to their fight style (Sarikamci = Yellow whip) or their appearance (Mavililer = Blue, Kerkenes = kestrel). Names, who accent the strength of the animals (Apaçi = Apache) are very popular.

The various newer Hint lines, such as the Memoli (Antalya), Kerkenes (Izmir) and Mavililer, locally and nationally are well known for their technique. However, they are usually no pure hint lines, but crossed animals, such as the Memolihint in which Shamo was crossed. If and in which form other races were crossed in the individual lines, even for connoisseurs of the matter is difficult to recognize. Battle lines formed with the only aim to be victorious in tournaments. The origins and the origin of the line are often in the dark. Even successful breeders do not want to disclose whether and in what form other races were crossed in. Ultimately, this is for most buyers and owners not interesting. Mainly is only important that the animals in the tournaments are successful and improve their own fighting breeds. When breeding the pure blooded Hint it should be ensured that only pure animals are used and no animals in which other races are included.
