The history of the Hint Horoz (Turkish Aseel)
The history of the Horoz Hint, also called Turkish fighter, is closely linked with that of the Turkish people. Turkey, with its fascinating culture has a turbulent history of more than 4000 years.
The cradle of the Turkic peoples lies in the region of Altai (Central Asia), in today's Mongolia. Even before the Christian era mighty peoples lived in the steppe and desert areas in the north and northwest China. From these areas individual Turkic peoples migrated repeatedly in the west direction. They founded several empires, of which one was the early Turkish Muslim kingdom Ghaznawiden (Turkish: Gazneliler).
Ghaznawiden was a Turkic dynasty (977 - 1186) in Khorasan (a historical region in Central Asia, the territory of present-day states of Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan). Capital and namesake of this dynasty, was the city of Ghazna in today's Afghanistan. The Ghaznawidians controlled the major trade routes which connected Iran and Central Asia with India. Extensive campaigns to India brought the Ghaznawidians immeasurable wealth, especially in the 11th Century. No later than this date, the Turkish peoples came in touch with the various Indian Aseels. On the migrations and expeditions, which usually led westward, the purchased animals were carried along. It is likely that the Turkic conquerors always appropriated the best animals.
Various fighting races, which crossed amongst themselves, were brought along from the migrations and expeditions.
Since the 11th Century, the Turks are residing in Anatolia. By the close contact of the old Turk peoples with other cultures, not only the respective customs and the language in the cultural district were accepted, but also a variety of pet breeds. By the time e.g. breeds developed, such as the famous Karakul (Karagül = Black Rose) or the Angora goat (Angora = Ankara), whose hair is won for the famous mohair wool.
The roots of Turkish soldiers are to fin in different Aseel races; they are a product of more than 1000 years of breeding performance!
